ART: SURREAL MINIMALISM IMAGES BY MICHELE DURAZZI.

Mesmerizing images of Michele Durazzi coalesce architecture, minimalism of photography and surrealism of cityscapes. The Florence – based artist created this project “What is metaphysics” after the idea of a philosophical work by Martin Heidegger. The zoom-in geometry, 3D images, surreal minimalism and architecture are about to showcase blurring borders between the fantasy and reality.  The concept of minimalism is cleverly captured the by base of white and blue colors.  There are numerous elements that sustain the fairy-tale like cityscape merging with the nature : a vortex in the public square, clad elevation accompanied with the water reflection, a circular swimming pool seen from aerial view and many more.  Just take a look!

‘MakeUp’ exhibition – Maurizio Anzeri

Maurizio Anzeri known for his innovative approach into imagery and craftsmanship was enlisted in the “MakeUp”Exhibition at the A Palazzo Gallery in Brescia, Italy. Among other 12 artistsMaurizio presented 2D and 3D portraits that clash the vintage culture of old photographs and embroidery mastership. As a result there is a collection ofaltered pictures creating fascination about transformative attributes with the experimentation in stitching. Anzeri’s passion for conversion is visible through the various techniques of needlework on the images. Maurizio seeks to present his own vision of “ideal beauty”. Because of the stiking contrast in the concept he explains to Dazed Digital: Beauty is always present, it is the idealthat is constantly changing”.

Elizabeth Taylor & Marilyn Monroe illustrated

Elizabeth Taylor – one of a kindactress and icon of Hollywood Golden Age  while passing away she left behindunforgettable memoirs of her glamour and striking beauty – trademark eyebrows, azure eyes and fascinating personality.
To immortalize the image of Elizabeth Taylor, illustrator David Downtown designed a series of illustrationsof enchanting Liz in for Chinese ROUGE Magazine. The fusion of fashion and art seems tohave a perfect marriage on the illustration’s field.

This reminds me of “Marilyn Monroe” collage composed by a Greek artist– Haute Angelo. The image you can find also here, on the Vintage Leather ind.Blog as well as in the Danaos Cinema in Athens, Greece. I will write another post with thedetails about the collage.
