Fashion Focus: “Butterfly effect” in fashion presentation.

The phenomenon of the brightly-colored insects is a great source of inspiration that can be easily followed in the fashion unveiling. Currently and continually I am amazed with the scope of the butterly concept in fashion and its perception into the manner of clothing and jewelry, let alone the fashion editorials.  I have posted many articles concerning the butterfly-adorned ideas that you may find on the pages of EdelScope.com.  Playing with the concept of the bewitching charm of the fluttering wings covered with the amazing palette of colors and patterns can give stunning outcome sometimes with the mind-boggling effects. Take a look into the fashion facus presentation featuring butterfly-inspired concepts:

Butterfly Effect – Elza Luijendijk by Ben Toms for Dazed & Confused June 2012

This enchanting editorial featured in Dazed & Confused Magazine for June 2012 definitely blurred the borders between fashion and art. The visuals apart from the butterfly themed aura are enhanced with the outstanding styling and art direction. The model’s face is covered with the butterflies, moths and other winged insects  magnifying a peculiar vision of a otherwordly being or human hybrid. Along with the sartorial masterpieces of Alexander McQueen or  Givenchy among others, the images depict how ethereal concept and impeccable styling that can be achieved through the fashion source.
The editorial resembles the Ad Campaign and video of  EDUN for Spring/Summer 2012 by Ryan McGinley who captured the essence of butterflies’ nature.  Worth mentioning is also the jewelry artist that creates tremendous butterfly jewelry under the name HAREM ROYAL

Fashion Focus: Butterflies in Edun Spring/Summer 2012 by Ryan McGinley

Beautiful Rebels” is an enchanting Ad Campaign capturing the Edun Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The campaign saturated in the fluttering charm of butterflies was photographed and directed by Ryan McGinley. The photographer known for his penchant for surprise in his artistic work was completely inspired by the unexpectedness of butterflies, their freedom to fly away and eloquence in existence. With those factors McGinley wanted to explore natural yet unpredictable behavior of butterflies towards the body.  As he explains: I was interested in how the body could reveal the butterfly. How it could fly out of the models’ mouths, hands or pants in its unfurling glory” (source). That is also what we can observe on the video with six featured species from Africa flying around the pink hued hair of Charlotte Free or tattooed chest of Bradley Soileau in the rhythm of gospel tunes “If I Had A Little Love” by the Majestic Arrows”. The video and pictures composes beautiful composition of the butterfly colors with the subliminal fashion theme presenting pieces from the Edun Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
