Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaigns seem to be on their full escapade with a great diversity of themes that encapsulate our desires for summertime along with first impressions of style inclinations for hot seasons of 2012. The most striking and recurring concept finds source in the vintage inspirations. Additionally, those vintage inspirations do not limit to only one decade but it is a procession of revivals with the 50s supremacy. You may find fashion brands’ exposing their key looks from Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk on imaginative and catchy pictorials emphasizing the signature of the brand with fabulous top models. Here is the selection of my favourite vintage admired Ad Campaigns for Spring/Summer 2012 season:
Prada’s Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign mesmerizes with 1950s pin up vibe and saturated colours both on the Prada apparels as well as retro surroundings of petrol station, classy vintage cars and azure sky. Dolce & Gabbana
created a genuine imagery of Italian life, habits and customs inspired by Old Italian cinematography for Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign. With magnificent, one of a kind Monica Bellucci and Italian beauty Bianca Balti, the womenswear pictorial depicts a hint of the traditional sense of matriarchy in the Italian “famiglia” captured by Giampaolo Sgura. The menswear line is the mastership of photography by Mariano Vivanco. The pictures portray the vibrations and rhythm of the day from Italian man point of view as seen in the iconic Italian movies of Mario Monicelli, Vittorio De Sica, Luchino Visconti and many other geniuses of Italian film making.View the whole Campaign here
Balmain with its French glam signature hits glam rock twist for Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign. The top model Anja Rubik becomes a female metaphor of David Bowie’s artistic creations with slick back hair and opulent key looks from Balmain Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk. As Marc Jacobs reported to WWD Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2012 Ad Campaign “is (…) very soft and sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic”. This fashion story reveals the concept of Wonderland patisserie of 1950’s with the saturation of candy adorned interiors photographed by Steven Meisel. The models, Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher dressed up in iconic lace and pastel outfits, look like the images from the dreamy carousel that Louis Vuitton presented during the delightful catwalk for Spring/Summer 2012 season. Dsquared2 for season Spring/Summer 2012 reminds us about bohemian freedom and hippie sense of style marching straight from the Woodstock festivals. Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore looks like a brand – new marine escapade influenced by the vision of early 20th century transatlantic voyage. This nautical dream that joins fashion attitude with architectural purposes was designed by Peter Marino, architect and interior designer. The stand alone building made of glass and steel is settled on the floating water having three unconventional entries – by tunnel, an outdoor bridge and by ship. Apparently the store was created to be both: one-of-a-kind shopping experience and luxury destination with the marine interiors. As the attraction for the tunnel visitors there is a space for cultural significance presenting temporary exhibitions on the right side and a collection of historic luggage by Louis Vuitton on the left.
