Design: Smart E-Bike electric bike.

smart-e-bike (1)

As the passionate cyclist and sport lover I am very keen on innovations that cirle around the bicycling field.  The latest technology wit from Smart that is fashion-forward simultaneously is a wonderul E-bike invention-Smart E-Bike. Smart collaborated with a specialized electric bike manufacturer, Berlin Based Grace that created super- economical and sustainable The Smart E-Bike. The bicycle has a 250 watt electric motor which gives the opportunity to accelerate the bike at a speed about 25 km per hour and more.

The modern design is the reflexion of streamlined functionality because of the fully incorporated battery and the electric motor as well as the smartphone integration. The device-oriented bike expands the cycling experience with such factors as GPS and information display, current speed, battery charge level and all other vital information including an internal sealed gear system that you may need during the ride .

Coachella2015_26

Coachella, in more expanded version Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is considered to be one of the biggest events that happens annually, only from the music point of view, but fashion statement as well. Every year this large scale event is held going back to 1999, when Paul Tollett decided to set up an extra-ordinary ocassion that will feature many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. The event of Coachella is regarded as the second-most in-demand concert to participate for many reasons. One of the them is the multiplifcity of fashion that flourishes around hippie and boho styles. Modern gypsies, up-to-date hippies, start and celebrities gather all together on the picturesque valley of California and enjoy their time in the Coachella event. Fashion Focus: Black-Red-White Mood.

Black -Red – White. Catchy yet classical selection of colors can be found in some fashion tendencies lately. The tri-color palette can be depicted on the face-painting factor as seen on Toni Garn, sporty chic clothing as well as in ad campaigns of Dior from Fall 2013 Campaign. The blonde model – Toni Garn captured by Hunter & Gatti clashes the image of blue-eyed sensitivity with the tribal vibe. The photography merges with the collage of oil painting and stitching style.

The tri-color trend can be easily reached in fast-fashion response as well. Simply and chic aesthetic perfectly matches with the sporty feel.

The history and influence of sports in the fashion world

If you are keen on chic clothing and know something of sporting activities, you will not be surprised to learn just how much influence sports and sports attire have had on the world of mainstream fashion – both designer labels and off the rack gear. Often, a specific style will have its origins in the world of sport, but then you will find it at your local department store or see it worn by a model in a fashion magazine. Look carefully at some of the styles you see around you and you will soon realize that the shoes and clothing styles that were designed to be of functional use for sports activities have been turned into fashionable staples for everyone.

Popular influences

Originally designed for players who used the basketball or tennis court, for running or other athletic purposes, sneakers are now a part of everyone’s normal shoe collection, particularly those who favor urban street style. Basketball jerseys are another example. First worn by players, then by fans, both basketball jersey styles and the most popular colors and numbers have since been adopted by fashionconscious consumers. T-shirts and skirts developed to meet the needs of women tennis players, by keeping them cool and offering them freedom of movement, have also inspired mainstream fashion designs.

History suggests that the Brooklyn Excelsiors wore the first rounded-top baseball caps in 1860, which then became known as the Brooklynstyle cap. In common with most sports-influenced design ideas, specific features were intended to improve athletic performance or provide better protection. In the case of the baseball cap, the peak was intended to protect players’ eyes. Baseball caps, like sneakers, remain a popular fashion item for young people.

The same trends apply to winter sports activities – brands that were introduced for snowboarders and skiing enthusiasts were quickly taken up by celebrities and thus became a high-impact influence. With the increasing popularity of sports clothing and footwear, many sponsors of sport saw an opportunity to broaden their reach, and today many items carry a firm logo or brand colors, including jerseys, shoes, T-shirts and baseball caps.

New trends

Today’s sportswear is highly sophisticated and designed to enhance athletic performance. It is interesting to note that sponsorship has also moved on. For example, it is not unusual to find that a designer brand that sponsors female athletes is interested in producing garments such as a women’s elbow sleeve, knee sleeve or compression band, which are not always seen by consumers. Perhaps the philosophy is that if the item of clothing is both comfortable and practicable, and valued initially by athletes, then it will move into mainstream consciousness given time.

GLAM EYE: Handcrafted touches for a unique interior.

Handcrafted touches for a unique interior_12

The incorporation of a few handcrafted touches into a home’s interior design can transform a living space from cold and impersonal to warm and unique, giving the house a greater sense of personality and making it feel more welcoming and homely to both guests and residents.

Where can I purchase handcrafted design?

The introduction of the Internet into our lives has made it so much easier to source handcrafted and unique design objects than was previously possible. Sites such as Etsy allow talented designers, artists, and craftspeople to display and sell their designs from and to anywhere in the world, and the great thing is that sellers deal directly with buyers and avoid the expense of intermediaries and agents.

The eco trend

Handcrafted art is really trending right now with its natural look and innovative ways of reusing and upcycling unwanted materials. Handcrafted art uses natural materials that feel comfortable and organic, and the ‘eco look’ is one of the biggest trends in interior decorating right now. Blend natural materials with stylish design using everything from tree branches and bark to dried flowers, driftwood, seashells, and pinecones for unique dining table decorations or a contemporary alternative to a traditional flower arrangement.

Original art

Paintings, prints, and photographs are familiar sights in house stagings, etc., but original art pieces have a uniqueness that mass-produced, commercial pieces fail to capture. Whether one buys an artist’s original or a limited edition custom print, choosing a piece with consideration and thought enables a personal connection between homeowner and artist, and hopefully a work of art that one will enjoy viewing for years to come. Limited edition prints on stretch canvas echo pop art and modern pop culture and are a quirky fusion of the photography and fine art mediums.

Wall decor

Embroidered wall hangings or fabric hoops have an amazing 3D effect and have been an integral part of interior home design since ancient times; there is something very warm and homey about the feel of fabric and embroidered textiles on a wall. Fawn and squirrel fabric wall decor hoops are inspired by everything from American film classics to delightful baby animals.

Useful accessories

Handcrafted touches can be as functional as they are decorative! Make a kitchen appear warm and rustic with  made from pebbles collected by the seashore or the river, or office supply holders made from things found on a woodland walk. If one’s especially crafty, one could make his or her own, but it’s also possible to source original pieces online that are both quality and one-of-a-kind.

Even traditional interior elements can benefit from a handcrafted touch; for example, one could make his or her vintage coffee table out of an old door panel, or one’s own DIY window shutters with plantation shutter parts. The raw wood look instantly adds something special to any home. Some inspired interior designers have even found new and original ways to upcycle old window shutters, such as a unique notice board, magazine rack, plant hanger, or shoe rack.
